Marc Boote, the relieved owner, expressed profound gratitude following what he termed a"traumatic"separation, noting:"Instant recognition occurred when we reunited."The feline now resides exclusively indoors, with Boote implementing enhanced enclosure measures:"We're securing our pergola to create a safe outdoor zone. This outcome underscores why pet microchipping is non-negotiable—without DACO database identification,Mozart's return would have been impossible."

Nalika van Loenen,RSPCA Rescue Team Leader, utilized the Dogs and Cats Online(DACO)registry to locate Boote, leveraging Mozart's embedded ID chip."Maintaining updated DACO details is critical,"van Loenen stressed."It ensures rapid reunion when stray animals are recovered."Carolyn Jones of RSPCA contrasted this with broader trends:"While microchips facilitate over 50%of dog recoveries, merely 4%of stray cats carry such identification.Unidentified felines rely solely on owner vigilance via our stray listings—reclamation must occur within five days before rehoming procedures commence."
